Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar packed
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • ½ cup coconut oil melted
  • 1 ¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips OR MORE!


  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Set aside for now.
  • Mix together the brown sugar, coconut oil, vanilla, and egg in a medium-size bowl. I used a hand mixer to make it extra creamy and smooth.
  • Add in the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in slowly then combine well. Add in the chocolate chips!
  • Scoop cookie dough, with a spoon or cookie scooper, onto the prepared baking sheet from earlier. 
  • Bake in the oven for about 9 minutes or until golden on the top.
  • Once done, pull from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 5 minutes before removing them from the sheet pan. Then enjoy!
