INGREDIENTS

- Almond milk unsweetened - Maple syrup - Natural peanut butter - Cocoa powder unsweetened - Coconut Whipped Cream (optional)

Lately, I have been craving hot chocolate like a crazy pregnant lady. Why? No idea. Maybe it is the cold weather or maybe it is the Christmas season.. either way, this girl is constantly starting the kettle for a mug of chocolatey goodness.

I know hot chocolate isn’t the best thing for us. But I cant help that my cravings are out of control. So just like any other person who tries to follow a healthy lifestyle, I started experimenting with healthier hot chocolate options.

HOW TO MAKE THIS VEGAN HOT CHOCOLATE

Bring the almond milk to a simmer on low heat in a sauce pan.

Slowly stir in the peanut butter and maple syrup so it melts completely. I used a whisk to make sure all the peanut butter clumps were completely dissolved

Whisk in cocoa powder. If your cocoa powder is older, you may need to swift it in to make sure there are no clumps before you add it to the hot almond milk.
