I love using mason jars to hold my smoothies too. If you are a real keen person you can always prep all the ingredients in the mason jars in the fridge, take the mason jar out in the morning, dump the ingredients in the blender, then pour back into the mason jar.
The protein powder gives you the fullness you crave to last you until your mid morning snack time. I added a little chlorella to give that extra healthiness factor.
