I thought I would just post a quick smoothie recipe for you guys. This smoothie is a super easy, hydrating drink that you can enjoy in the morning to start your day strong or any other time to give you a quick boost.
Berry Lemon Smoothie Ingredients:
- water
- baby spinach
- protein powder of choice
- frozen raspberries
- frozen blueberries
- lemon
- chlorella powder
- ice
There is definitely something about this berry lemon smoothie that makes you feel super hyped to start your day. I love the extra zing from the lemon.
Did you know adding you lemon to your water and smoothies will kick start your digestive system and help you burn more calories?! It also acts as a natural diuretic, which means it helps flushes out extra water your body may be carrying!
My favourite way to make this berry lemon smoothie is with my magic bullet! It is by far the easiest blender I have ever had.. why? Because the cleaning process is so easy! Sometimes I hate having to clean our big bulky blender, so having this smaller option is the best!
If you are not a fan of the magic bullets, you can always use a regular blender for this recipe, just know that this recipe is more for a single serving so you will have to double it (at least) in your larger blender or it may turn into a giant mess.
Pro Fruit Smoothie Tip:
I love using mason jars to hold my smoothies too. If you are a real keen person you can always prep all the ingredients in the mason jars in the fridge, take the mason jar out in the morning, dump the ingredients in the blender, then pour back into the mason jar. Talk about an easy way to meal prep and get your day started!
The protein powder gives you the fullness you crave to last you until your mid morning snack time. I added a little chlorella to give that extra healthiness factor.
Berries and spinach are packed with antioxidants that will leave your body healthy and happy.
What are your favourite fruit to add to your morning fruit smoothie?
Are you fans of smoothies? I love having a large smoothie after my morning run.. I find it hydrates me and gives me a little energy boast after draining my energy levels!
I would love to hear what you all put in your fruit smoothies for more ideas! One of my all time favourite smoothies is this beet and ginger smoothie I made. I love out of the box ideas and this one was definitely a smoothie hit!
Anyways enough of me ranting on and lets get right to this fruit smoothie recipe shall we?!
I hope you all enjoy this berry lemon smoothie! Don't forget to tag #nikkisplate in your smoothie creations! I love seeing your posts on instagram!
