Hi beauties! Coming at you with a delicious 7 layered Mexican dip appetizer recipe! I don't know about you, but I absolutely love layered Mexican dip appetizers.
What could be better for a fun, casual party than a dip made with famous Mexican flavors? Nothing. This layered Mexican dip is the perfect finger food appetizer to serve at your next gathering. Everyone will want seconds of this yummy recipe. This recipe is perfect for any party, especially the super bowl coming up!
The layers are pretty straightforward forward but I have added a few extras into the mix that really make this recipe pop! It's bursting with Mexican flavors and so so good! So let's jump into this 7 Layered Mexican Dip Appetizer now!
How to Make 7 Layered Mexican Dip Appetizer:
- Chunky salsa
- Refried beans (canned)
- Cream cheese (softened)
- Sour cream
- Taco seasoning
- Guacamole (store bought is fine)
- Shredded cheese
- Tomatoes
- Green onions
The first thing you want to do is drain your salsa in a mesh strainer. This will keep your dip from being overly watery. Next, you are going to prepare the refried bean layer. Mix the refried bean mixture with ¼ cup of sour cream and taco seasoning. Spread this mixture on the bottom of your serving dish.
Next, mix the remaining sour cream with softened cream cheese in a separate bowl. Then pour and spread this layer on top of the refried bean layer. Next, spread your strained salsa as the next layer and your guacamole as the layer on top of the salsa. Sprinkle with your shredded mozzarella cheese, and tomatoes, and finally top with the green onions!
How Long Does 7 Layer Dip Last In Fridge?
This dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days. The longer it is stored, the more the layers will bleed together and it can get a bit watery (just drain any excess liquid off). After the first 24 hours, it may not look like it did original, but I promise you'll still enjoy its delicious taste!
Tips for Making Perfect 7 Layered Mexican Dip:
The layered Mexican dip is a party classic, especially during the Superbowl. The blend of cream cheese, guacamole, and taco seasonings make for an addictively tasty dish. So, here are my tips for getting it just right.
- Start with fresh ingredients!
- Use a good-quality salsa. My favorite is a chinky salsa! It's important to choose a brand with no added sugar. And make sure you strain it to avoid a runny dip!
- If you are making your own guacamole, make it right before you serve the dip or it will brown if you leave it in the fridge.
- Make sure that your layers are spread out evenly so that no one gets an uneven amount of chips or other toppings when they take a bite!
- Top with jalapeños if you want some extra heat!
- Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.
Layered dips are popular for parties because they are just so convenient. You can make the entire thing days before and it will taste just as good on the day of your party.
