Hi Beauties!
Do I ever have a recipe for you all! I am in love with these. If your obsessed with almond butter and dark chocolate.. then you are going to go crazy over these just like I am! There is something about dark chocolate and almond butter that takes Reeses peanut butter cups to an entire new level.
Why not use peanut butter you may ask... WELL. Peanut butter isn't actually THAT great for your health. I try to switch it up for almond butter or sunflower seed butter from time to time. Peanut butter can contain high trans fat and also has a high fungus level. So I usually try to switch it up from time to time... but I do love peanut butter and I am super thankful I am not allergic to it.
This recipe is super easy to make and you don't even have to turn on your oven! YUP you read that right. This is a no-bake recipe dreammmm. All you need to do is put the ingredients together and freeze them so it all solidifies together and you're good to go! I made a small batch of these squares because Dylan won't eat them.. it would just be me eating them so I made smaller squares in less quantity.
Here are some more no-bake treats to try:
The best part about freezing ingredients to bring them together is that you can keep them in the freezer after. I love having snack options in the freezer. They last forever and you can also throw them in your lunch bag and they act as an ice pack to keep all your lunch goods cold and fresh! How amazing right?! You can also do this with any muffin recipe. I always keep my muffins in the freezer then throw them in my lunch bag on my way to work (microwave or toast them when you're ready to eat them!).
I topped these squares with sliced almonds and some shredded coconut flakes. All-natural and unsweetened.
I always buy my ingredients in bulk from our local health food store. Its way easier to create great recipes when you already have everything right on hand. Its the easiest way!

Side note: It was really hard to shoot these photos because it was so dark from the crazy rain storm we had the other day. But at least my little blogging/photography buddy made me more confident! She is even sticking out her tongue ready to catch any crumbs I drop during the process haha MY GIRL!
Enough dragging you along through my typing.. let's get right to these chocolate almond squares, shall we? I mean that is the reason you are here right?!
