How To Make Witch Hat Halloween Cupcakes
Whether you're a mom looking for an easy kid's Halloween activity, or you're hosting your annual Halloween party (or are trying to find candy-free treats for it), these easy witches hat cupcakes are just adorable!
Ingredients
- one box of chocolate or vanilla cake mix
- one jar of vanilla buttercream frosting
- orange food coloring
- black and orange fondant for the witch hat
Directions
- Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners (I used these ones). Preheat oven. Prepare the cupcakes as directed on the box. Evenly divide the batter among the cupcake liners and bake as directed.
- Prepare the orange frosting. Spoon out the frosting into a small bowl and add 5 drops of the orange food coloring and stir. Do not over mix! If the orange is still too light add more drops until you achieve the orange color you are looking for.
- Spoon the orange frosting into a pastry bag. Set aside and create your witch hats with the black fondant. Mold the fondant into hats. Use picture for reference. If you don't want to use the fondant then I recommend buying this witch topper pack from Amazon.
- Once cupcakes are done, remove from oven. Allow cupcakes to completely cool before decorating them. Squeeze the pastry bag with the orange frosting onto the cupcakes then lightly top with the witch hats. Serve or store in airtight container in fridge for up to 3 days.
