Hi Beauties!
Coming at you with a traffic and income report. I use to post reports every month on my traffic and income but stopped. This posts kind of fell off the radar for me because I wanted to focus on actual content.
But now that my blog has grown quite a bit since my last traffic and income report, I thought it would be a great idea to restart them.
Back Story of Nikki's Plate
I started Nikki's Plate in 2015 as a creative outlet.
I have a strong passion for creating healthy recipes, DIY/Home decor and photography. Being a university nursing student left me feeling empty. I didn't love being a student (who really does?) and wanted a hobby to relieve stress and take my mind off studying at times.
I quickly fell in love with the blogging world. I got sucked right in! I wanted to eat, breathe, and sleep blogging.. which I couldn't really do. For those who aren't aware, bachelor of science in nursing degree is one of the hardest undergraduate degrees! It is very time consuming and left my blog in the dust most months. I was lucky to post 1 blog post a week while in school.. so needless to say, my blog was put on the back burner for a few years.
Now that I have graduated and am a nurse, I am able to focus on my blog again. I spend some of my days off blogging. For a long time I didn't have a blogging schedule and just blogged as I wanted... but now I have decided to start taking my blog more seriously to improve my traffic and income.
Of course my dream is to become a full time blogger, and nurse casually on the side. Blogging is where my heart is, and I want to pursue my dream of blogging as a career.

Thoughts On August 2019
August was a good month for the blog, I have reached a record high for my traffic this month and I am hoping this incline continues into September!
I posted 6 blog posts this month because I wanted to enjoy my summer and not be stuck in front of my computer screen the entire month.
This being said, a lot of my top ranking posts are from previous months.
Side Note Lesson: I have found that sometimes it can take up to 6 months for a blog post to gain traction and go viral. So do not get discouraged if your blog post (that you spent HOURS even DAYS on) doesn't take off right after posting. It will! Just continue to share it (especially on Pinterest) and it will take off eventually.
This was also my first full month working with Mediavine. For those of you who don't know, Mediavine is an ad agency that posts ads to your blog as a source of income. So far I am extremely happy with my Mediavine experience and may even consider doing an entire review post.
August Traffic Report
Now to the numbers.
This month, as said above, was one of the best months for the blog in terms of traffic. A lot of my older blog posts took off this month and were bringing in hundreds of individual readers a day, like this Vanilla Macaroon Recipe.
Pageviews: 60,365
Sessions: 46,319
Side Note: I would love to improve my Bounce Rate and my Pages per Session. I want to increase my page views by encouraging readers to read more than one post on my blog at a time.
Clearly Pinterest is my top source for traffic to my blog. I really need to start learning SEO to start ranking better in google and other search engines.
August Income Report
Here are the income numbers for my August income report.
Mediavine: $716.20
Reward Style Affiliates: $37.70
Amazon Affiliates: $6.07
Tailwind Affiliates: $2.00
TOTAL: $762
There you have it, the final numbers for August!

I enjoyed reading your income report. I’ve been blogging for a while and getting customers for my direct sales company but hadn’t focused on traffic until 6 months ago when I learned about Mediavine. I always thought ads were distracting. I decided to keep them off my sales pages and although it cuts down on the ad revenue I’ve still made about $200 a month on ads since I started in May and my Amazon income has gone up. When I started my website I didn’t think beyond direct sales income but it’s bloggers like you that gave me the motivation to try other income routes. It’s cool seeing how your blog has grown over the years and $700+ in ad revenue is something to be excited about. It’s only going to grow! I’m going right now to check out the bathrooms in your last post and get some new dessert ideas. 😍
Nikki
Thank you Stacy! So glad you enjoyed my income report. 🙂

I love reading other people's income reports! They are so interesting (yes, I am very nosy 🙈 ) and motivating.
I really enjoyed reading about your traffic and income from August.
I recently started a blog and am sharing and tracking my income and traffic reports as well so I can look back and see where I was and where I am (as it's so easy to focus on the next milestone, next goal that we often forget where we started and how far we've actually come).
Anyways, hope you have a great week and wish you an even better September 🙂
Nikki
So glad you enjoyed my income/traffic report! Wishing you luck with your September too 🙂
