Mondays can be stressful, but I can help you make it a happier day.
There is nothing worse then having a great weekend in the summer, and having it ruined at the thought of going back to work on Monday.
Although you may be dreading Monday, and might even slip into a bit of a depression over it on Sunday night, I know some ways to turn it all around for the better.
These are simple choices you can make to ensure your tomorrow is a happy and easy one.
Surround Yourself with Positivity
This is more of a general statement. Surrounding yourself with positivity is one the best ways to uplift your days. Find the little joys in life and embrace them. Move the negative influences out of your day.. whether it be a certain person, or a busy street on your way to work..avoid it. Don't give it the time of day.
Surround yourself with things that will uplift your spirit and put a happier spin on your day. Choose one thing each day to do for yourself.. whether that be going for a walk in the morning, reading a book on your deck.. give yourself something to look forward to. Give yourself something to bring positivity and happiness into your life.
Get Your Beauty Sleep
Sleep is such a huge factor when it comes to your next day. Getting enough of it can completely alter your day. The National Sleep Foundation (yes this exists) states that you need 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
Do what you need to do in order to get these hours of sleep in each night. Force yourself to go to bed at an appropriate hour.. having trouble falling asleep? Try avoiding caffeine or alcohol before going to bed. Make sure your room is a sleep haven by eliminating distractions, close the blinds, make sure your bed is comfortable. Turn off your electronics. Also, make sure you are getting some physical activity during the day.. physical activity will help you get you fall asleep faster!
I don't know about you, but when I don't get enough sleep, I feel sluggish, slow and sad. Take care of your sleep health. Go to bed early and make sure you get enough ZZZZzzzzs.
Don't Sweat The Small Stuff
Fluff off the things in life that aren't worth your worry or your time. Some things cause unneeded stress in our lives. Don't let these things take over your life and ruin a perfectly fine day.
When something upsetting happens in your day.. try to turn it around. Don't let it get to you. There are bigger things out there that people in the world are going through. Spill your coffee all over you on your way to work? Oh well. Not worth getting upset over because it is something so small in the big picture.
Everyone is fighting a hard battle in this world. The little tiny things that make us upset are not worth our time.. laugh it off and move on.

Prep for the Day
I dont know about you, but my mornings can make or break my day. If I have a very crazy and stressful morning getting ready for work, I find it really impacts my day in a negative way. I do everything in my power to avoid a stressful morning by prepping everything the night before.
I make sure all my scrubs are out and ready to go to quickly put on. I have my lunch packed and in the fridge. I even set the coffee timer on so it starts brewing for me the moment I wake up!
Having a smooth morning can brighten your day and make it a happier one! Decide to prep for the day!!
Eat Light and Healthy Before Bed
Nothing makes me feel worse then waking up with a rock in my stomach. I use to eat before going to bed after working a 3pm-11pm shift. The next morning I would always feel crappy. My stomach would feel full and sick, and I would feel sluggish/slow moving.
I found eating no later then 3 hours before going to bed really helpful. I wake up feeling light and ready to take on the day. I don't feel mildly hungover but ready to roll! If you need to eat before you go to bed, try eating something healthy and light that won't hurt your stomach in the morning.
Forgive and Move On
This is another point that may be hard to do, but will make such a difference in your happiness. If you are like me, and you have a hard time not holding a grudge, this will be difficult for you. Forgiveness does not make us weak.. Forgiveness is powerful. It is letting go of something negative that you make be carrying around with you.
Let go and move forward! This in the end will let you live a happy life!
