"Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negativity."
What changes did I make and how I did it? So grab a cute notebook and jot down some of my tips! Here are my 7 happy habits you can use too to eliminate negativity from your life too.
Spend Time With Positive People
For me, I feel like this is an obvious habit to eliminate negativity from your life which is why I am listing it as number one. Spending time with people who bring out the positivity in your life should be high priority. Surround yourself with nice, honest and loyal friends and family.
Relationships should lift you up not bring you down. If you have someone who is negative in your life, you will start to feed on this negative energy and it will in turn make your outlooks on life negative too. Focus your time on people who bring out the best in you. Surround yourself with people that reflect the person you want to be.
Choose friends that make you proud to call them friends. Spend time with those who you admire and make you want to be a better person. Choose to be around people who bring light into your life and make your day brighter.
Don't be afraid to of losing people, be afraid of losing yourself. Life is too short to spend it around people who suck the happiness out of you and make you a negativity person. This is YOUR life, take control and make changes.
Let Go of the Past and Move Forward
Holding grudges is one of the hardest things I have ever had to learn to do. I don't know why, but I have the hardest time letting things go. I have always lived by the "burn me once and your done" life. And yes, having someone in your life that is going to do you wrong is not good. But dwelling on what happened does not help you.
Instead of holding on to resentment, anger or even thoughts of revenge.. embrace forgiveness and move on. Don't stew over people or things that really do not deserve your time.
In the words of Elsa just "let it go" 🙂

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
This is HUGE. The moment I was able to stop comparing myself to others is the moment I stop seeing myself in a negative light. When you compare yourself to others, you are seeking for something wrong with yourself unconsciously. Whether it be your appearance, your job, your school grades.. it brings negativity.
For me, I always had a hard time with my body. I have had really bad self image in terms of my body. I use to always compare myself to friends, or girls on Instagram. I found that once I accepted myself, and stopped comparing myself to others, I found joy. I stopped obsessing over exercise and eating healthy.. I turned this negative obsession into joy. Now I find joy in exercising and joy in eating healthy rather then these things causing negativity in my life.
Develop Strategies for Coping
Having coping methods for when times get tough is so crucial when it comes to keeping a positive outlook on life. Find something that releases stress and negativity. Whatever your outlet is, use it to ward off unhealthy thoughts.
I find joy in running. I love to run. I find it really clears my mind and gives me a moment to burn off stress. I always find myself in such a better mood after a run.
Stop Overthinking
Overthinking can cause so much negativity. When your overthinking things, your usually looking for the bad things, which unknowingly is drawing negative emotions. Try avoiding over looking the little things. Obviously, there are some situations that require thinking things through, but the little things that don't largely matter shouldn't take up so much room in your mind.
Think of the big picture. If something is not going to matter in your life in a few weeks, then to stew over it. Make your decisions, say what you have to say, do what you have to do, and then move forward!
Take Care of Your Body
Take care of your body and your body will take care of your mind. This is a huge one. A lot of people forget how important eating healthy and exercising is for your mind. I could write an entire post in this section alone.
Eat healthy whole foods that are not processed/fast foods. Stay hydrated by drinking at least 2L of water a day. I usually push for 3L a day because I am usually pretty active during the day. Be active everyday. I do mean go to the gym, or run 10km every day, but at least do something small to get your heart rate up every day. Go for a walk, play with your dogs/kids, do yoga, garden or dance! Whatever you can fit in that day, then do it! Your body will love you for it 🙂

Be Thankful
Expressing gratitude is so important when it comes to positively transforming your life. Look at your life at a whole. Look at the important things you should be thankful for.. Your health, having a home, having loved ones who care about you, having a job with an income.. A lot of the time we forget the important things because the little things consume our mind.
I alway stop and think about these big picture things when I am stressing about something little. This honestly has really helped me delete negative feelings and thoughts everyday. Instead of complaining about something, turn it around and be thankful for it. Your boss making you angry and causing you stress?
Yes but at least you have a job, that pays for a roof over your head, food in your belly etc.! Your mom on your a*s about getting something done? At least you have your mom here on earth still, and she cares and loves you enough to go out of her way to harp on you! Turn your negative thoughts into positive thoughts!
