Here are the top rated places to live in the UK for expats! Enjoy everything the UK has to offer on your adventures!

If you’ve ever considered a life abroad then the UK is probably one of the locations that immediately comes to mind. It’s a wealthy and (reasonably) stable country with an outlook not too dissimilar to our own. And the fact that we speak the same language doesn’t hurt either.
When it comes to everything from the quality of life to employment opportunities and from culture to convenience, the UK is ideal and it’s only about the size of a large state (you could fit almost three UKs inside Texas alone). But if you’ve ever seriously considered upping sticks and shipping your belongings across the Atlantic from the USA to the UK, which cities are best equipped to provide everything you’ll need for a happy and fulfilled life?
Places To Live in the UK for Expats:
London
The capital of the UK is also one of the most desirable places to live in the world. A global center for finance and culture, London is where most UK outfits are based and if you work in the financial sector, it’s probably going to be the city where you feel most comfortable. Of course, the one downside to living in London is the sheer cost of real estate. Even studio apartments can run for as much as 4-bedroom houses in other parts of the country. But that’s why the rental market exists right?
Manchester
While we could easily have put Liverpool in this spot, Manchester is a more central location as far as the North is concerned with easy access to other northern cities such as Leeds and Sheffield. It’s also a hub for the UK’s television output and is the third largest city in the country. It’s also got a lot more green space than most other UK cities and the cost of living is significantly lower than down south.
Bristol
Bristol doesn’t quite have the same notoriety as many of the other cities on this list but that’s arguably what makes it so desirable. This is the kind of city you can really fall in love with and feel like you belong there. From the beautiful and affluent Clifton neighborhood to the cosmopolitan city center and the various cozy suburbs, Bristol is often ranked as the best UK city to live in for several reasons.
Birmingham
The UK’s second largest city is a hive of multicultural activity with a tech scene that rivals even London and a surprisingly deep heritage when it comes to everything from music to industry. Birmingham is a city very much in the middle of a cultural renaissance right now thanks to the 2022 Commonwealth Games and its' ideally located for exploring the rest of the Midlands.
Edinburgh
If you want to move to Scotland, then there are two major choices for US expats – Glasgow and Edinburgh. While the former certainly has its charms, Edinburgh is second only to London when it comes to average weekly earnings and almost 50% of the city is taken up by green space. It also boasts the annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival which is the largest and most famous celebration of the arts and culture in Europe! Scotland is by far one of my favourite places to travel to!
