How To Plan A Wedding In Italy; Details on how you can plan your dream destination wedding in the beautiful country of Italy!
How amazing would it be to plan a destination wedding in Italy! Dylan and I are going to Italy for our honeymoon, so lately I have been doing a lot of research on Italy. It is such a beautiful country, I can barely handle it! I am so excited to experience it in real life in just 4 short months!
Italy is known as one of the most romantic countries in the world which is why it’s perfect for a wedding. You can get married in a picturesque Italian location with all of the magic of a fairytale and make your special day even more memorable.
However, having your wedding abroad does make things a little more difficult. Organizing everything from thousands of miles away is a bit of a pain but don’t let that put you off having a beautiful Italian wedding. Just follow these tips and everything will run smoothly.
Watch Out For Wedding Packages
It might be tempting to go for a wedding package so all of the details are sorted out for you and everything is a whole lot easier, but they aren’t always the best choice. Your wedding should be special to you and if you get a package wedding, it’s not going to be unique.
There are various options so you can tailor it slightly, but you’ll never get the wedding that you’ve been picturing. You’ve also got to be careful because a lot of the packages are a little misleading. They’ll often make it look like they include a lot more than they actually do and you’ll be in for a big disappointment when you get over there. By that time, you’ll have no other option but to go ahead with what you’ve got.
Get A Local Photographer
A good wedding photographer is somebody that knows the area well and can find the best spots to take great photos in. You could always bring your own photographer with you but it’s far better to use a local photographer who knows the place better than anybody else. It’ll also be cheaper than paying to bring a photographer over with you.
Find The Perfect Location
There are all sorts of great places to get married in Italy, it just depends what you’re looking for. Lake Maggiore is an amazing location for outside weddings. You can get married right next to the beautiful lake and the weather is amazing in summer.
If you want something more classic and romantic, Rome or Venice are perfect for you. If the amazing food in Italy is one of the major reasons that you want to get married there, head for Turin or Naples.
When you’re trying to choose the perfect location and then plan all of the finer details of your wedding, you’ll struggle to do everything remotely. That’s why you need to take a trip or two out there to make sure that the venue is perfect and to meet with all of your suppliers.
Plan Post Wedding Activities
While you’re out in Italy, you can roll your wedding and honeymoon into one by planning some great activities after the wedding. If you want the quintessential Italian experience, hit up Venice or Rome. If you want a great relaxing experience on the coast, Manarola is one of the best destinations.
An Italian wedding is a bit of a challenge to plan and execute but it’s worth it if you want to make your big day extra special.
